Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to apply your analytical skills in a real-world environment? We are looking for a Threat Research Analyst, Summer Trainee to join our Scam Protection Engineering team for the summer of 2025!
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analyzing online threats and enhancing scam protection strategies for key global markets. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to strengthening our URL reputation and content coverage in the US, Vietnam, and Japan regions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Comfortable coding in Python, with some experience in software deployment tools.
Knowledge of SQL queries is a plus.
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques is an advantage.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Ongoing studies in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or IT-related fields. Near completion or completion of a bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.

Curiosity and proactiveness are key, as you’ll be encouraged to take initiative and tackle challenges independently. Strong communication skills in English will help you document findings clearly and present insights effectively. Additionally, being able to visit our Helsinki office regularly (1-2 days per week) for collaboration is important.

Responsibilities:

As a summer trainee, you’ll work closely with our Scam Protection Engineering team to support daily operations and enhance our coverage. Your key responsibilities will include:
Improving URL reputation and content coverage for targeted regions (US, Vietnam, and Japan) to strengthen our product’s effectiveness.
Identifying and suggesting improvements to detection rules to broaden and enhance URL coverage.
Analyzing scam trends and implementing region-specific strategies to enhance detection accuracy.
Utilizing internal tools and OpenSearch dashboards to gather and analyze URL data for better threat intelligence.
This is a 5-6 month program starting in May or June 2025, providing you with an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful cybersecurity initiatives.
