About the role As a Thrift Shop Business Consultant this is your opportunity to work alongside dedicated Thrift Shop Managers, Corps Officers and the Victorian Divisional team to enhance the performance and safety of the Corps Thrift Shop business across the Victoria Division. Reporting to the Victoria Divisional Commander, this fixed-term full-time role is contracted for 12 months. You must be flexible and willing to travel regularly across Victoria as part of the role, you will be primarily based in Victorian Divisional Headquarters located in Mitcham, VIC. How you will make an impact Monitor data, report on market trends and sales, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership, finance, and operational stakeholders Lead and support the transition of thrift shops to Salvos Stores, liaising with key stakeholders and ensuring accurate financial contributions and progress towards 2028 goals Build leadership capacity by coaching Corps Officers and Thrift Shop Managers, assisting with recruitment, and supporting team development in collaboration with HR Plan, design and deliver statewide training, encourage resource sharing, and embed safety strategies in line with WHS and divisional standards Drive operational excellence by reviewing sales performance, enhancing customer service, improving inventory control, and ensuring consistent store presentation and branding What you will bring Tertiary qualifications in a retail or business discipline or related field (preferred) Proven retail management experience with consistent outcomes, ideally across multi-site or geographically dispersed environments Demonstrated success in driving store performance improvements, including upgrading, setting up and relocating stores An understanding of the stages of the sales process to ensure a positive customer experience A current VIC Drivers Licence What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people. Responsibilities
