Description The thrift store associate performs thrift store operational tasks, collaborates with staff and volunteers assigned to the thrift store and serves as a point of first contact for customers at the thrift store. The thrift store coordinator is skilled in customer service, merchandising, donation processing and acts as an ambassador of AMOREM through customer and donor interactions. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Accept and process donations · Display and price merchandise in the store · Assist with merchandise turnover · Process customer transactions at the cash register · Adhere to publicized store hours · Keep store and surrounding area neat, clean and attractive · Provide accurate sales report · Model respectful interaction with staff, volunteers, customers and donors · Assist customers with product selection and queries · Cooperates with thrift store team to meet store targets · Maintain a clean and organized environment thrift store environment · Handle customer complaints and provide solutions or escalate them to thrift store coordinator when necessary · Acknowledge all donations as specified in hospice policy and procedure · Assist with donation pickups as requested · Promote the philosophy of hospice as directed by the chief executive officer · Adhere to personnel policy · Participate in continuing education · Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: · Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word required · Excellent customer service skills · Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills · Basic math skills for handling cash transactions MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: · High school diploma or equivalent required Experience: · Two years of retail experience strongly preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Visual acuity to read written documentation and computer tasks · Ability to sit extended periods of time and perform administrative tasks · Ability to stand, bend and lift an average of 50 pounds · Manual dexterity with the ability to manipulate office equipment and keyboard for extended periods of time · Ability to walk, squat, kneel, climb and balance SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: · Must have an automobile with required insurance coverage and state driver’s license
