Overview and Responsibilities THRIVE Practitioner Location: Smallfield, Surrey Actual annual salary: £27,712 - £30,250 dependant on qualifications Plus £2000 Welcome bonus with SEN Experience* Hourly rate: £15.51 - £16.93 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm Start Date: As soon as possible Aurora Redehall School, Smallfield, Surrey Part of the Aurora Group Aurora Redehall School supports pupils aged 6–11 with communication difficulties linked to Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. We’re seeking a passionate THRIVE Practitioner to join our team, to deliver interventions around emotional literacy and mental wellbeing to the pupils. Delivering therapeutic interventions within the ‘Targeted’ therapy offer, under the direction of a trained therapist to small groups and individual pupils. To support the SENCO, Clinical teams and class teachers with aspects of emotional literacy as identified To support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class and support with delivery of emotional literacy in a primary setting. To work closely with team members delivering therapeutic interventions and support implementation of therapy programmes, strategies and supports in class for primary aged pupils. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Please see the link below for our full job description: Job Description - THRIVE Practitioner Skills and Qualifications Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential. Up to date training relevant to post THRIVE training (or willingness and ability to complete in the first 2 years in post) Desirable: Level 5 qualification related to the subject area Knowledge and Experience Essential Knowledge of/experience in special educational needs, particularly autism Experience working with young people with emotional literacy needs Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
