Purpose: We seek an experienced MIG and TIG welder primarily responsible for performing GTAW of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The incumbent will ensure that products meet our quality standards regarding assembly specifications. Essential Functions: Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job Plan details of working procedures, tools, and material requirements Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded MIG & TIG weld with no defects Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings Builds up worn or defective surfaces. Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air grinders, etc.) Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly Monitors supplies (gas, weld tips, and grinding disks) Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines Conduct operations that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards. Requirements Requirements: High School Diploma or GED AWS Certification desired 2+ years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to MIG & TIG weld – mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steel Must be able to adjust the welder in order to get a quality weld Ability to read blueprints Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures Attention to detail Willingness and ability to work overtime Willingness to complete an in-house weld test Americans with Disabilities Specifications The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
