Description

Impact Cases Inc. has been in operation for over 37 years and specializes in the Design & Manufacturing of Custom Aluminum Shipping Cases & Rackmount Systems for the Global Defense & Aerospace sector. We require an experienced full time on site TIG WELDER/Fabricator at our Markham, ON facility.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role with enclosure type products and must have experience with Aluminum & Stainless Steel.
CWB / TSSA Weld Tickets are valuable assets
Must be a “Results” focused person, with a passion for quality and consistency. Company will provide a continuous development platform
Job Summary:
The Welder fits, fabricates, finish grinds, joins and inspects welded products, components and assemblies.

Job Definition Statement/Outcomes:

  • Meeting the requirements of the day-to-day schedule of welding dept
  • Improving the Welding Department performance and productivity, while safely operating the welding equipment, tooling, supplies, Jig, fixtures and other machinery.
  • Preparing and setting up components and assemblies for processing
  • Identifying any fault in operating equipment or any material or equipment and reporting to plant manager
  • Able to work with the Design & Engineering Team on producing specialized tooling and jigs to complete welding projects accurately and efficiently
  • Be able to understand work instructions/drawings generated for the weld department.
  • Developing personal welding techniques and understanding of welding process & procedures.
  • Complete, Inspect and Certify first off Assemblies and Components.
  • Ensure that handling practices are followed to minimize any damage to parts.
  • Able to use measuring and inspection equipment and understand the criteria set out on the drawings.

Characteristics:

  • Regular interaction and support of shop floor team members
  • Comply with safe work environment protocols & policies
  • Ideas driven with a flare for continuous improvement (CIP)
  • Forklift Operator Licence is beneficial
  • Ability to lift 40lbs your own

Skill Sets:

  • 8 years’ experience welding thin gauge metals (TIG), in a similar welding manufacturing environment – Defense & Aerospace
  • Brake Press Set up, Calibration and Operation experience is beneficial (Trumpf Equipment)
  • Ability to analyze & resolve problems and issues.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
