Description Job Purpose: Performs installation, repair, and maintenance of tires on company semis, pickups, dump trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the fleet. Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Inspects, mounts, dismounts, rotates, and repairs tires on semis, dump trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery. 2. Monitors tire wear and tread depth, identifying issues such as uneven wear or alignment problems. 3. Repairs punctures and replaces damaged tires, tubes, and valve stems using appropriate tools and techniques. 4. Performs tire balancing and torquing to manufacturer specifications. 5. Maintains tire inventory and completes work orders accurately. 6. Assists mechanics with truck and trailer maintenance as needed. 7. May perform roadside tire service calls on company equipment. 8. Supports preventive maintenance programs on fleet vehicles. 9. Ensures proper inflation levels and records tire pressure and maintenance logs. 10. Operates tire-changing equipment, jacks, air tools, and other shop machinery safely. 11. Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment in compliance with company safety policies. 12. Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2–5 years of experience in commercial or heavy-duty tire maintenance preferred. Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred. Familiarity with commercial tire sizes, patterns, and torque specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely. Basic computer and recordkeeping skills. Ability to read and interpret work orders, service bulletins, and equipment manuals. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team. Must maintain confidentiality and follow all company policies and safety requirements.
