Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and dedicated Tissue Bank Technician to join our team. As a Tissue Bank Technician you will play a crucial role in the recovery, processing, and distribution of animal tissue implants as well as processing of stem cells for transplantation. Duties:

  • Perform aseptic surgical recovery procedures on donated dogs and cats with care and respect
  • Process recovered tissues according to established protocols and procedures
  • Ensure proper documentation and labelling of tissues for accurate tracking and traceability
  • Maintain strict adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Communicate with pet owners and veterinary practices to ensure efficient customer care
  • Participate in promotion and marketing of tissue products and awareness of tissue donation to pet owners and veterinary professionals

Skills:

  • A minimal GCE/A level or equivalent in science is required
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Good communication skill
  • Experience in laboratory setting and understanding of aseptic protocols
