LAB MANAGER – TISSUE CULTURE PLANT PROPAGATION

Location: Garden Route, South Africa Position

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and hands-on Lab Manager to lead our plant tissue culture operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team focused on innovative plant propagation solutions and a leader in the fruit industry.
Strong ability to run a commercial tissue culture facility with a big team of micro-propagation technicians is a must.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in microbiology, Botany, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with plant tissue culture techniques
• Experience running a commercial Lab
• Strong numerical ability
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a tea

• Oversee daily operations of the tissue culture laboratory
• Supervise and train lab technicians and support staff
• Manage the propagation of plant specimens under sterile conditions
• Develop and optimize protocols for micropropagation and acclimatization
• Maintain lab records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standard
• Manage various plans with regards to: Production, Maintenance, Equipment, Staff
