ABOUT VOXCELL BIOINNOVATION

At VoxCell, we are revolutionizing preclinical drug testing with cutting-edge 3D bioprinting technology. Our mission is to create advanced tissue models that deliver more predictive results in drug discovery — ultimately accelerating drug development and improving patient outcomes. We are a fast-growing biotech company, passionate about pushing the boundaries of science, technology, and collaboration.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Tissue Engineer / Scientist to join our Tissue Engineering team at our facility in Victoria, BC. This is an in-person role and a key position in validating and commercializing VoxCell’s advanced tissue models as tools for preclinical drug testing.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in 3D bioprinting, mammalian cell culture, tissue engineering, and assay development, with a proven ability to design and execute complex experiments. You will play a central role in technology advancement, process optimization, and mentoring junior scientists while working closely with cross-functional teams and industry collaborators.
If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy multidisciplinary teamwork, and are excited about solving complex biological challenges, we’d love to hear from you.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Cancer Immunology, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • 3+ years industry experience in bioprinting, tissue engineering, cell culture, or cellular assays.
  • Proficiency in 3D bioprinting and advanced mammalian tissue culture.
  • Experience with fluorescence imaging, plate-reader assays, and flow cytometry (co-culture/immunological assays are an asset).
  • Strong data analysis skills with a quantitative, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills for working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, research-driven startup environment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on experience with bioink formulation, characterization, and tuning.
  • Familiarity with vascularized tissue engineering strategies and matrix optimization.
  • Knowledge of drug testing assays, perfusion systems, and microphysiological models.
