If so, you may be the person we are looking for! We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to join our Tissue Services team as a Procurement Coordinator. The preferred candidate would have a strong anatomy and sterile technique background, with the ability to effectively communicate. This position spends a quarter of its time performing post-mortem tissue recovery. The remainder of the time is spent completing proper documentation and coordinating the recovery process. This position is an on-site position requiring the candidate to reside within 45 minutes of Omaha. The rotating on-call schedule includes 12 shifts, covering nights, weekends, and holidays. Training starts with day shifts and transitions to overnight shifts upon completion. Job Responsibilities: Coordinate, facilitate, and perform surgical recovery of tissues. Gather and accurately assess patient medical records and donor risk assessment to determine suitability. Accurately complete the donor electronic record. Perform case oversight to include charting, delegation of duties, and communication with internal and external partners. Provide ethical and sensitive treatment to each donor. Requirements Bachelor’s degree focused on anatomy (i.e., health sciences or nursing) is preferred, or a minimum of four years equivalent training. Relevant experience required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist Certification (CTBS). Able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance with the ability to travel by vehicle. Ability to maintain professional relationships and effective communication with both internal and external partners. Experience: Proficiency with sterile technique Advanced knowledge of human anatomy Experience with tissue recovery preferred Effectively communicate with coroners, funeral homes, families, hospitals, and other internal departments.
