Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to improve and support curriculum and instruction and to provide assistance in staff development, program implementation and coordination of instructional activities. A TOSA may serve in a variety of different roles to support the district in meeting its goals.

FTE: 0.2

FLSA Status: Licensed - Professional
Contract Status: Temporary Teacher
Start Date: 2025/2026 School Year
Calendar: 191 Work Days
Salary:$52,980. - $99,204. with benefits prorated according to FTE, Salary based on full-time status
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee’s salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Specific Duties:

  • Located at Waldorf school
  • Funded through Title 1
  • Supervised by Amy Lesan
  • Responsible for teaching small groups reading instruction in partership with leadership and teachers. Curriculum will be provided (and flexible) based on student need.
  • This position will work in close partnership with teachers and the director at Waldor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon teacher’s license.
  • Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory and brain research.
  • Demonstrated competence in area(s) of special assignment.
  • Five or more years teaching experience in the area of special assignment.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of curriculum structures and instruction and assessment strategies that reflect current research on best practices.
  • Familiarity with state standards and curriculum frameworks.
