Pay Grade: Teacher Scale
Period of Employment: 10 Months FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervised by and/or Reports to: CBES Principal
General Responsibilities: The Title I Math Teacher is responsible for providing targeted, data-driven math instruction and intervention to eligible students in accordance with federal Title I guidelines. This role focuses on closing achievement gaps, improving math proficiency, and supporting students at risk of academic failure. The position is entirely funded through federal Title I, Part A grant funds and is contingent upon the continued allocation of such funding. Employment beyond the current grant cycle is not guaranteed.

REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated success in teaching mathematics and/or providing targeted intervention in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Title I program requirements, compliance documentation, and allowable activities.
  • Strong skills in student data analysis and instructional differentiation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records for compliance and audit purposes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Some heavy work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects may be required.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide small-group and/or individualized math instruction to students identified through the school’s VTSS process.
  • Develop and deliver supplemental instruction that supports, but does not replace, the core math curriculum.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional goals, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring.
  • Use data from multiple sources (screeners, benchmarks, state assessments) to identify student needs and measure growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student services, instructional activities, and progress, in compliance with federal program documentation requirements.
  • Prepare reports, student rosters, and intervention logs as required for federal monitoring, audits, and district reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student goals, progress, and ways to support learning at home.
  • Participate in professional development related to math instruction, intervention strategies, and Title I compliance.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local laws, as well as district policies and procedures related to grant-funded positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
