Description:
Ready to build your career? We want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Vice President – Technical Direction and based in Montreal, the incumbent is responsible for managing the operations of the Methods & Temporary Works (M&TP) department, which includes around thirty people (managers, engineers, coordinators, technicians, modelers, etc.) mainly located in Montreal and Vancouver. These operations involve planning, developing, and documenting construction methods (site installation plan, construction phases and sequences, temporary works and equipment requirements, etc.) while considering health and safety requirements, environmental standards, etc., in collaboration with pre-construction teams and project teams. The department also ensures the engineering of temporary works, supervises or carries out and controls the production of models and fabrication drawings, and can attest to the compliance of temporary works during their implementation on the construction site when required. With his team and construction teams, he anticipates site problems, analyzes different options or alternatives, and selects optimal, effective, and safe solutions. The department is involved in various types of work, including civil engineering structures, underground works (including deep foundations, tunnels, etc.), maritime works, earthworks, etc., in all regions where Pomerleau is present (Quebec, Maritime provinces, British Columbia, and Ontario). The incumbent supervises the definition of the department’s mandates (both in the proposal phase and in the implementation phase) and ensures the control and proper execution of the mandates while ensuring the quality of services rendered and compliance with schedules. He establishes the department’s development strategy, recruits and assigns resources to projects, to meet the company’s needs in his field of action. The incumbent is a member of the Technical Direction Steering Committee and collaborates with his various colleagues responsible for managing design, technical expertise, and planning.
