Reporting to the Vice-President - Technical Management and based in Montreal, the incumbent is responsible for the functional management, within a matrix organization, of a team of technical directors and managers as well as design managers and coordinators involved in projects during the proposal and implementation phases, and mainly based in Montreal and Vancouver. The Director - Technical Management is involved in civil and infrastructure projects in the fields of transportation (bridges, tunnels, roads, railroads, mass transit systems), marine and hydraulic engineering, across Canada. The incumbent is a member of the Management Committee of the Technical Department, and will collaborate with colleagues involved in technical management in the building sector, in the management of construction methods and temporary structures, and with the team in charge of technical expertise. The Director - Technical Management works in collaboration with the pre-construction team, notably on the selection of consultants, the preparation of service agreements and fee negotiations. The Director - Technical Management coordinates closely with the Major Projects business unit and may also take on the role of Technical Director on a limited number of proposals and/or projects, participating in major project technical committees, overseeing the implementation of technical management organizations, processes and tools on projects. He will promote and support synergies between the design (consultants) and construction teams, ensuring that effective alternatives are considered, that the design is optimized within the framework of tender requirements during the proposal phase, that user needs are met, and that compliance with technical requirements is achieved.
