CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY:
Under minimum supervision performs work that is non routine and complex. Maintain the development, delivery, evaluation, and maintenance of excellent online courses. Collaborate with others existing processes and innovate ways to enhance and increase online instruction design practices.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSE, EQUIVALENCY
Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in a related field.; Required Experience:Five (5) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:None; Required Certification/License:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of teaching and learning processes in educational settings (e.g. University, College, K-12, Continuing Education). Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.; SKILLS:Records maintenance skills.; ABILITIES:Demonstrated ability in instructional design related to producing and teaching quality online courses/workshops. Ability to provide course design related to building online courses efficiently with numerous instructors in a professional educational environment. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot education technology applications. Ability to author technical documentation in paper, online, and video formats for the use of educational technology.

CLASSIFICATION STANDARD DUTIES:
Facilitate with the design exercises and activities in conjunction with course authors that enhance the learning process. Create and locate supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, gamification, etc.) to be used within Canvas. Evaluate and approve new educational applications and software programs that would enhance course development and/or delivery from the faculty and/or student perspective. Review existing curriculum looking for areas of improvement and enhancement. Design courses for innovation in course design. Implement feedback provided by faculty related to course content changes and improvements. Research and submit any new innovations in both learning design and education. Support initiatives to align course goals and educational activities and assignments. Provide guidance and advice to management and other departments on technical, systems or process related
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructional Designerwill work with project faculty to support student success through course designs that implement accessibility features as well as inclusion and cultural awareness. The Instructional Designer will work with the Institutional Research to embed data collection functionality in courses, whether online, flex, hybrid or face-to-face.
