You will: Lead a growing team of 5-6 junior and senior engineers to implement and scale ML infrastructure for Waymo's core economic engine of ride-hailing commercial services. This collection of systems manages trip booking requests; match right vehicles to riders; calculate the price of rides; positions Waymo's vehicle for future demands. Create ML infrastructure for automatically training and deploying optimization and prediction ML models to make real-time decisions for pricing, matching, and positioning. Develop experimentation, monitoring and analysis infrastructure for analyzing ongoing deployed models. Build simulation infrastructure for all marketplace optimization and ML model development. You have: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience 6+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages 2+ years of people management experience Technical leader experience Experience building backend applications and API We prefer: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. 6+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages. 2+ years of people management experience. Technical leader experience. Experience building backend applications and API. The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
