We are an organic sheep dairy. We lamb every other month and are currently rearing around 250 lambs and looking to increase this to approximately 380 lambs in the future.
The job will involve TMR feeding, bedding up and milking, along with all aspects of general farm work.
You will be expected to have a passion for sheep health and welfare as well as a basic understanding of livestock husbandry. The job requires a keen eye for detail and cleanliness. Experience with TMR feeding, and a driving license is essential.
The location of the job is split between two farms, the dairy being based in Shaftesbury and the other farm based in Hammoon Sturminster Newton. This particular role will see you working on both farms. Working hours for the role will average out at around the 60 hours per week, and is based on an every other weekend off basis. 28 days holiday as well as farm pension scheme (if eligible)
Accommodation could be available for the right candidate providing certain criteria is met.
Please note that as an employer we are willing to support 10 hours paid training away from the farm on a yearly basis and provide additional employment benefits through a HR partner. There is also support purchasing PPE and waterproofs for use on farm.
