Description

Room Leader – Join Our Team at Creative Explorers
We are a fast-growing nursery, expanding to meet the needs of our thriving community. As part of this growth, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to join our team. With opportunities available at our North London sites, we offer flexible working options, allowing you to work either 4 or 5 days per week to suit your schedule.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in a nursery that values creativity, exploration, and high-quality early years education. We are keen to welcome an experienced professional who can lead, inspire, and support both children and colleagues.
About Creative Explorers
At Creative Explorers, we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and independence. Our approach is rooted in hands-on learning, exploration, and creativity, ensuring that every child receives the best possible start in life.
Our nursery welcomes families and team members from all backgrounds, and we believe in supporting and developing our staff to help them reach their full potential.
The Role

As a Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead and support a team in delivering high-quality early years education.
  • Implement the EYFS curriculum, ensuring that learning experiences are engaging and developmentally appropriate.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Oversee daily routines, planning, and assessments to ensure a consistent and enriching experience for all children.
  • Support and mentor your team, promoting professional development and best practices in early years education.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and proactive early years professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for child development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 or higher qualification in Childcare and Education.
  • A minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience working with children from birth to five years.
  • Experience in leading and supporting a team of educators.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A current and valid DBS check.
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work certification.

Desirable:

  • A higher-level qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education/Childhood Studies.
  • Experience working in child-led, creative, or eco-conscious learning environments.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching approaches that encourage resilience and independent thinking.

Why Join Creative Explorers?
We believe that supporting and investing in our team is just as important as nurturing the children in our care. As a Room Leader, you will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team with access to a range of benefits:
Staff Benefits:

Work-Life Balance & Wellbeing

  • Additional Annual Leave: Gain an extra day of leave for every year of service (up to 3 days).

  • Christmas Closure: The nursery closes over the festive period to allow staff to enjoy time with loved ones.
  • Parental Leave & Support: Family-friendly policies to support working parents.

  • 50% Childcare Discount for staff members.
  • Ongoing Training & Career Development opportunities.
  • Referral Bonus: Earn £200 for recommending an early years practitioner who joins our team.
