Jo Jo’s Day Care Nursery Ltd - Herne Bay are currently recruiting for an experienced, motivated Toddler Room Leader.
We are looking for team players to lead other qualified and experienced staff to make sure our families have the best experience in early years.
The successful applicant will be passionate about working in childcare.
You will be required to run the room and support the staff team.
You will have the experience of working in a busy nursery or early years environment and have a good understanding of best practice.
This is a full time and permanent position, working Monday to Friday, minimum 40 hours per week, all year round..
You will be a self-motivated, flexible individual, who can work well within a team or on your own.
This is NOT a Term Time Only position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

What experience and qualifications must I have to apply?

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 year post qualifying experience working with children from birth to 2 years.
  • Ability to lead a team
  • A sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years
  • Understanding of play based approach to children’s learning and development
  • Have excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Create an engaging learning environment
  • Knowledge of child protection procedures
  • A sound knowledge of child protection procedures
  • A positive attitude, good initiative, confident and approachable
Responsibilities

Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
  • To lead the team within your room in planning the curriculum and looking at reflective practice
  • To complete Supervision within your room
  • To have a good knowledge of the Key Person system
  • To have an ability to confidently carry out observations, assessments and planning for Key Children
  • To plan, prepare and review the curriculum with your team reflective of the EYFS
  • To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times
  • To ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
  • To work in partnership with the parents and provide good customer service
  • To ensure confidentiality at all times
  • To have the skills to develop relationships with colleagues, with the ability and enthusiasm to work flexibly and as part of a successful team
