TOOL AND DIE MACHINIST, 1ST SHIFT

Clampco Products, Inc., a locally 100% Employee-Owned manufacturer of heavy-duty stainless-steel v-band couplings, band clamps and strap assemblies, has a NEW opportunity for a full-time Tool and Die Machinist-1st shift -with some flexibility. Individuals in this position ensure production demands are met by supplying the production floor with machining support, accuracy and quality as a Tool and Die Machinist.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of solid, hands-of experience with tool and die maintenance and repair in a manufacturing or machine shop environment; apprenticeship certification is highly desirable
  • Ability to anticipate problems and troubleshooting moderate to complex solutions
  • Ability to utilize various measurement instruments/tools (calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, etc.)
  • Successful interview process, ability to meet Company testing requirements & physical demands of the positions including pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to work M-F, and overtime if needed

Responsibilities
  • Maintain existing tooling via punch/die replacement, sharpening or redesign as required
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and follow the instructions on job route plans
  • Troubleshoot die wear and breakage issues status and condition of dies, set-ups, punches, tooling, etc
  • Produce new dies, fixtures, machined components, jigs, tooling, etc. for use in the pressroom, bending/rolling, assembly, and both welding and robotic cell production areas per Engineered prints
  • Assist with reverse engineering of die components, punches, machine components, etc
  • Use various types of measuring devices including gauges, comparators, mics and calipers daily
  • Produce production machine components for emergency replacement or future placement
  • Run component production, as needed or assigned, on appropriate mills, turns and/or lathes
  • Advise Lead Machinist/Engineering/Production Managers of method/design options with respect to machine/material capabilities
  • Follow all safety requirements
