We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Tool and Die Apprentice to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. Duties Learn about precision metal stamping and die set-up Learn how to operate manual machines such as saws, mills, drill presses, grinders & lathes Learn root cause of part or tool malfunction Work full time with experienced die makers Attend classes several evenings/week for 3 years at the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) Complete 10,000 hours of tool and die tasks Responsibilities Operate and set up metal stamping press lines Operate Tool Room equipment Machine and mill basic parts to blueprint specs Perform maintenance on machines Maintain, build, and assemble progressive tools Produce jigs, fixtures, special guides and holding devices Interpret tooling blueprints Understand and use SPC Maintain a clean and safe work area Requirements Complete high school manufacturing classroom courses leading to graduation NIMS safety or equivalent Basic math – speed and feeds Machine operation Blueprint reading Basic metalworking tasks such as machining Use of gages, calipers, gauge pins and micrometers Participate in team challenges: robot rumble, hi-mileage vehicle, sports, TMA machining contest Possess excellent verbal, written, digital skills Demonstrate good communication & multitasking skills Like to work with your hands and able to pay attention to details Interested in continuous learning Able to regularly lift containers up to 40 pounds Pass preemployment physical & aptitude test Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour This position is at our Elk Grove Village, IL location.
