POSITION SUMMARY: TOOLDIE MAKER

We are seeking a skilled ToolDie Maker to join our dynamic team. This role involves making and repairing tools, dies, and fixtures for continuous run punch press and related metal fabricating machinery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mechanical aptitude, a high attention to detail, and a passion for quality craftsmanship.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completed apprenticeship or equivalent technical education in ToolDie.
  • 10+ years’ experience in tool and die making.
  • Proficient blueprint reading and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiar with progressive tooling, close tolerance metal parts, and metal stamping environments.
  • Experience with EDM Wire setup and operation is a strong plus.
  • Skilled in the use of forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings or blueprints.
  • Inspect dies for wear and identify maintenance needs.
  • Disassemble, clean, and repair dies using hand tools and power tools.
  • Set up and operate grinders, mills, lathes, drills, and other machining equipment.
  • Follow sequences of operations to execute complex machining processes.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Build dies, construct fixtures, and fabricate precision metal parts and prototypes.
  • Use lifting equipment (die lifter, forklift, jib crane) safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate records related to tooling, repairs, and quality standards.
  • Train or mentor junior personnel as assigned.
  • Support specialized areas such as EDM wire, die repair, or prototyping.
