JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Setter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in tooling and fabrication processes. As a Die Setter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of presses and other machinery, contributing to the overall production quality and efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Technical School certification.
  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in die setting or related fields.
  • Strong math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documents accurately.
  • Proficient in using hand tools for assembly and maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • US citizenship is required for compliance with technical data access regulations.
Responsibilities

As a Die Setter, you will:

  • Install and set up dies on presses, including bolting, clamping, and other mechanical tasks.
  • Lift and carry dies during setup, utilizing equipment to transport heavier dies safely.
  • Verify material type and thickness before operation.
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to understand die setups.
  • Read blueprints and process sheets and utilize measuring tools accurately.
  • Set safety pullbacks for operators and ensure proper functioning.
  • Inspect dies, perform dimensional checks, and determine when sharpening and cleaning are necessary.
  • Evaluate product conformance by performing first-piece inspections and conducting frequent dimensional and visual checks.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control personnel to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members and supervisors.
  • Exhibit good oral communication, listening skills, and basic math proficiency.
  • Stand, walk, grip, hold, and reach for extended periods during operations.
  • Follow standard production methods, equipment usage guidelines, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to safety protocols and work instructions.
  • Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and forward-thinking approaches.
