POSITION TITLE: TOOL CRIB ATTENDANT     DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE     REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE MANAGER, MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR     FULL/PART TIME: FULL TIME - DAYS       Job Summary The Crib Attendant looks after maintenance inventory, part ordering, PM software and work order system and maintains 5S in the cage. Can assist maintenance tradesperson in the repairing and maintaining of machinery, fabrication, plumbing, and electrical systems of plant operations equipment as needed.   Duties & Responsibilities * Maintain inventory crib area with Kanban, 5S and maintaining * Able to assist maintenance department with daily tasks: inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities * Clean and maintain routine maintenance with on machinery * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision * Adhere to all safety guidelines by keeping work area clean and wearing protective clothing * Ability to consistently lift 25lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50lbs * Good understanding of how to perform PM’s * Comfortable working in small areas * Able to operate hand tools (drills, grinders, various saws, etc.) * Ability to work overtime when required * Good organisational skills * This job is the first step to becoming a Vuteq trades apprentice   Job Qualifications Education * Successful completion of OSSD or equivalent   Experience * 2-4 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience * 1-3 years of technical experience * 1-3 years of MIG, Arc and/or TIG welding experience an asset   Skills and Abilities * Good hand-eye coordination and flexibility * Exceptional attention to detail * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization * Ability to multitask  Other * Must have or be willing to attain a driver’s license, crane and forklift license * Must be willing to attend lock out tag out, dry ice, and shop tool training * Must be willing to commit to enrolling into Industrial Apprentice program related to trades (time off to attend post-secondary trades school
Responsibilities
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing maintenance inventory, handling part ordering, utilizing PM software and the work order system, and maintaining 5S standards in the crib area. They will also assist maintenance tradespersons with machinery repair, fabrication, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed.
