The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks in support of tooling used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. The incumbent will undertake the investigation and resolution of tooling issues including new & modified tooling designs, tooling dispositions, preparation of tooling use instructions, and the provision of technical support to Tooling Quality Assurance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE):

Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalen

• tExperience using CATIA V5 software favorabl
• eGood written and oral communication skill
• sDemonstrated skills in problem solvin
• gExposure to Quality Assurance processes and procedure
• sUnderstanding of OH&S implications within the fiel
• dFamiliar with use of email, databases, Internet and Microsoft Windows & Office suite of Tool
• sAll candidates must have full, unrestricted working right

This is an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement position and classified as an Engineer 1A.

Investigation and timely resolution of tooling issues / problems encountered during productio

• nAssessment and disposition of Tool Non-Conformance issue
• sDevelopment and preparation of tooling designs and drawings for both new and modified production toolin
• gMaintaining tool configuration control through the effective use of the BAA TRACS database syste
• mProvision of technical support to Tool Quality Assurance including analysis and verification of data produced by co-ordinate measuring machine
• sLiaison with internal and external suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification / manufactur
• eEnsuring that tooling designs prepared comply with government and state legislation and regulations as they relate to OH&S requirement
