Hours for this position are typically: 1st shift Monday – Friday 6:00AM – 2:00PM 2nd shift Monday – Friday 2:00PM – 10:00PM 3rd shift Sunday - Thursday 10:00PM - 6:00 AM *Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekend & some holidays) * *Subject to shift rotation every 6 months to gain experience to different leaders* *Shift subject to change once apprenticeship is complete* WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU: Starting pay $20/hour *See Wage Schedule below* $1.50 shift premium (2nd shift) $1.00 shift premium (3rd shift) Weekly pay 10 paid holidays Paid Time Off 401k Full benefits (medical, dental, vision) WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION: Previous experience in a factory is beneficial but not necessary Strong work ethic Positive attitude Consistent attendance Willingness to learn Safety minded KEY RESPONSIBILITES: Learn to troubleshoot and repair dies in the press and/or on the bench Progress as outlined in the apprenticeship program Brainstorm improvements in tooling and in all plant processes Learn to set up and operate tool room equipment including drill press, drill lathe, mill and grinder Assist with die setting activities Take direction from manager, leader and experienced tool & die co-workers and acquire skills for each 1000-hour assessment Assist the organization in implementation of continuous improvement activities Responsible for completing all required documentation (paperwork, and computer) including last-off reports, die maintenance reports, mis-hit reports, etc. Responsible for the safety, cleanliness and orderliness of the tool room and at presses when performing work Learn to remove, repair and install all die sections that have been damaged or are dull, and verify that work has been done correctly. Maintain a clean and safe work area, supporting 5S, health & safety and environmental initiatives. Ensure the company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF:2016 and employee handbook. Follows safety regulations and policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits cost saving improvement suggestions, etc. Performs all other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or manager. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent Eligible to work in the United States. Complete a certified Apprenticeship program whereby the employee can demonstrate experience using various tools, including but not limited to knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. **Class will be taken outside of working hours and must maintain a B average. ** Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen). Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Report to work on time to support production startup. Possess good physical stamina and coordination. Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds Work as a team, good communication skills, basic math skills, physical dexterity.
