The Tool and Die Maker will provide support for all production tooling needs, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to shop-floor calls in a timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment
  • Journeyman’s Tool and Die Maker’s card of certification is a plus
  • Equivalent combination of aptitude, education, certification and or experienced body of knowledge that will meet our requirements.
  • CAD training and experience, preferably with Solid Works or other solid modeling software
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills, team skills, and can interface directly with the customer to resolve issues
  • Excellent visual accuracy
  • Basic Math skills are required
  • Basic computers skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail

Responsibilities
  • Must work well with others as part of team and be committed to providing our customers with an excellent experience
  • Reads and interpret blueprint
  • Interprets both verbal or written instructions, and can fabricate a component by determining the required specifications
  • Perform, setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of materials and cutting tools, tolerances, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds
  • Determines specifications for inspection of work performed
  • Use precision measuring and gaging tools to perform required inspections before, during and after machining
  • Set-up and operate all tool room equipment (i.e. grinding, milling, lathe)
  • Troubleshooting of tools, and record keeping of all tool development activity
  • Provide support for all production tooling needs
  • Respond to shop-floor calls in a timely manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Understand all tooling components functions so that the highest possible run time and quality can be maintained
  • Maintain a spare parts inventory to reduce potential down time
  • Share knowledge of the trade and train apprentices
  • Wear all required safety equipment and ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure appropriate shop safety standards are in place and enforced
  • When necessary use CAD software
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, free of clutter and safety hazards
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor
