Description Tool & Die Technician Position Summary This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality stamped parts by maintaining, repairing, and improving production dies. The Die Maintenance Technician supports efficient manufacturing operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs—helping minimize downtime and eliminate defects. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on stamping dies Repair damaged dies using welding, grinding, and fabrication techniques Modify existing die components and manufacture new die parts as needed Respond to press calls and perform in-press repairs when required Operate TIG and stick welders, grinders, drill presses, milling machines, lathes, band saws, surface grinders, and other shop equipment Safely operate overhead cranes to transport dies throughout the facility Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to support production demands Follow all ISO 14001 and TS16949 standards and maintain strict adherence to quality requirements Comply with all safety policies, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Perform additional tasks as assigned, supporting overall plant operations as needed Education, Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent 3–6 years of related experience in die maintenance or machining Strong math skills and understanding of die theory Hands-on machining experience Welding and grinding experience Proficiency with milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saws, surface grinders, and bench tools Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to convert between metric and English measurements Solid reading and writing skills Compensation & Benefits We offer an outstanding benefits package designed to support you and your family: Low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Employee pays one low cost Coverage begins the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment No 90-day wait for benefits Futaba pays 90% of the cost $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment Paid plant shutdowns twice per year (July & December) 9 paid holidays 6 paid sick days Two weeks of paid vacation after one year 401(k) with company match Company-paid Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability Employee Assistance Program Referral program
