Description Position Title: Tool Room Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Tool Room Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our tool room and manage the tool-making and maintenance processes. The Tool Room Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of tool makers, ensuring the efficient production and repair of tools, dies, and fixtures, while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of tool makers, providing training, support, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development. Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring that tools are fabricated, repaired, and maintained efficiently and accurately. Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring timely completion of tooling projects and minimizing downtime. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all tools and fixtures produced meet specified tolerances and quality standards through regular inspections and testing. Implement quality control procedures to identify and resolve issues in the tool-making process. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to understand tooling requirements and enhance manufacturing processes. Communicate effectively with upper management regarding tool room activities, production metrics, and resource needs. Inventory Management: Manage the tool room inventory, ensuring adequate supplies of materials and tooling are available for production needs. Track and maintain records of tool usage, maintenance, and repairs to optimize tool performance and lifespan. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the tool room operations. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices in tooling and manufacturing. Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 5+ years of experience in tool making, machining, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position. Strong knowledge of tool-making processes, materials, and machining techniques. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with CNC programming and operation is a plus. Other Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or technical certification in Tool and Die Making, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is preferred.
