Description Position Description – Tooling Technician 1st Shift (05:30 – 14:00) Reports to: Plant Maintenance Manager Primary Responsibilities: Support company safety initiatives through compliance with safe work practices. Set up and collect machine tooling (forming plates, spacers, knockout assemblies, etc.) for daily operations per the planned schedule. Maintain, clean, and organize the area for tooling storage. Interact with equipment/tooling providers regarding new and/or rework/reconditioning of machine tooling. Communicate the status of tooling orders with plant leadership. Maintain appropriate spare parts for tooling assemblies and communicate needs to maintenance and purchasing to Perform daily routine for honing/sharpening grinder plates and blades. Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and organization. Assist with entering information into the CMMS system. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work with and maintain files on computerized systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point), CMMS sytems, etc. Proficient mechanical abilities to assemble, perform minor maintenance on various equipment and tooling, including forming plates, knockout assemblies, and grinder plates/blades. Ability to use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and grinding systems. Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing). Minimum High School Diploma or GED NOTE: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Responsibilities
The Tool Technician will support safety initiatives, set up and maintain machine tooling for daily operations, and communicate tooling order statuses. Additional responsibilities include maintaining tooling storage and assisting with inventory management.
