This position includes many essential components necessary for successful and efficient manufacturing, and as such, shares full responsibility for the final product delivered to the customer.   Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities * Contributes to the successful introduction of assigned new projects through the validation cycle into production.    * Has high levels of engagement with all internal departments/functional groups.  * Fosters teamwork while participating in cross-functional project teams to the successful execution of project requirements and goals. * Provides project team support for product Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of molded components.  * Responsible for compiling Part DFM, Mold DFM, Moldflow analysis, Tool Build Sheets and Technical Passdowns with input from Tooling Engineer (TE).  * Generate work order request and technical documentation.  * Provides technical troubleshooting support for New Product Development (NPD).  * Ability to work directly with Tooling Engineer to support completion of project deliverables.  * Evaluates existing process’ to drive process improvements to enhance quality, safety, customer satisfaction, production standards, work throughput, and cost efficiencies. * Obtains supplier tooling quotes and complete requisitions for purchasing. * Review Mold Factor Acceptance Testing (MFAT) submission and works directly with tooling suppliers to resolve technical challenges with support of TE.  * Applies Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. * Acts in accordance with ISO and other regulatory requirements, and company procedures. * Support in Engineering Change Order (ECO) and various document revision review process.  * Performs all other duties as assigned. * Support NPD Engineering group on End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) design, fabrication, and entry level programming.  * Support Quality Assurance with fixture design, fabrication, and manufacturing.  * Support Toolroom on NPD Mold Incoming Receiving (MIR) and NPD mold cleanings as demand requires.    Essential Qualifications * High school diploma required or equivalent required.  * Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, customers, and all vendors. * Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills. * Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills with ability to read 2D drawings. * Entry level CAD knowledge required, preferably in SolidWorks. * Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating, and solving problems. * Must have strong computer skills to include the knowledge of a variety of computer software applications to include MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, IQMS, Acrobat, CAD, Moldflow etc.    Desirable Qualifications: * Certificate in a technology discipline. * Entry level tooling and Injection molding process knowledge preferred. * Experience within the medical device industry. * Previous experience with fixture / component design.   What SMC has to offer? * Clean, Climate-Controlled Environment * Stable schedule  * Paid holiday and PTO * Health, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) retirement savings * Life and disability insurance * Promotional opportunities * Training and career growth programs * Amazing co-workers * Tuition reimbursement * Employee Assistance Program   We are committed to fair and equitable hiring with salaries based on relevant factors, such as work experience, education, and certifications.
