Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Lead to join our stores team. In this role, you will provide knowledge and support within the tooling section of Stores, enhancing processes and improving the efficiency of tools and equipment used in aircraft maintenance. You will identify opportunities to improve departmental performance by reviewing tooling items and processes, focusing on enhancing quality, availability, and supply to the operations teams.
This role is based at our head office at Norwich Airport and is Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals for the operation and maintenance for all company tooling.
  • Upload Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals onto Q-pulse (internal quality management system).
  • Upgrade tools and equipment as appropriate.
  • Identify items that are no longer required for use.
  • Review tooling loans and submit proposals for acquisition.
  • Propose an action plan for all applicable servicing and maintenance of tooling.
  • Check and categorise all tooling in relation to Servicing and maintenance, calibration, calibration and maintenance LOLER, PUWER, HAV and ‘on condition’.
  • Maintain a servicing, Inspection and Maintenance program.
  • Review supplier performance and investigate other sources and suppliers.
  • Identify items that are to be inspected internally and externally.
  • Interrogate data held within PMI (Internal Product and Manufacturing Information system) for accuracy.
  • Update the tooling catalogue as required ensuring the correct photographs and information is present.
  • Monitor availability of tools and equipment for operations.
  • Any other reasonable requests as given by the Stores Manager.
