Job Title: Tooling & Maintenance Technician (Roll Forming - LA
Location: Ice Industries Louisiana 21095 South Frontage Lacassine, LA 70650

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required along with completion of trade school, a journeyman’s program, or formal training as a Tool & Die Maker.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in solving problems with tool & die and mechanical maintenance on automated equipment
  • Experience using precision instruments in either metric or English measurement systems
  • Thorough understanding of tool room equipment, operations associated with drilling, milling, surface grinding, and lathe operations
  • Understanding mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagram instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Support the production operation by immediately responding to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow all escalation processes as defined.
  • Troubleshoot and perform all required tool and die work on automated equipment
  • Make repairs to the pneumatic and hydraulic system as necessary to perform necessary maintenance and PM activities.
  • Basic welding and the ability to perform repairs requiring welding to return production equipment to service
  • Ability to perform production tasks as necessary or required by the situation
  • Troubleshoot and respond to quality issues, machine, and system failures, adjust, repair, maintain, and rebuild roll form machinery and ancillary equipment throughout the plant.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the machine and equipment can produce quality parts safely and efficiently.
  • Read blueprints and accurately set and pin rolls to CAD data provided
  • Assist with design changes for all roll-forming machines and ancillary equipment
  • Operates necessary material handling equipment to transport supplies to the job and to make installations and repairs
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant.
