Description

AAA Canada is looking for someone with tooling and manufacturing experience in the aerospace sector with emphasis on problem solving, technical support, and process improvement. The person selected will be working with engineering, methods support, and production highlights cross-functional collaboration

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical or aeronautical engineering diploma (or strong equivalent experience);
  • 10+ years in manufacturing, ideally aerospace, with hands-on machining/tooling experience;
  • Proficient in CAD (Catia V5/NX), GD&T, machining, project management;
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational ability;
  • Fluent in French, working English;
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects, able to go from desk work to shop-floor problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with the production department, the aircraft methods support group and the engineering department in our manufacturing centers to analyze tooling requests in order to find technological solutions that will improve assembly performance;
  • Update and coordinate schedules and information for the various tooling requests/projects, and inform the parties involved;
  • Participate with tool designers in the definition of tooling concepts;
  • Issue order instructions to enable our internal & external suppliers to manufacture tools according to our designs;
  • Manage and track costs of projects under your management;
  • Accompany and support our internal & external suppliers during tool manufacturing;
  • Inspect tooling to ensure conformity with drawings before delivery to production, and support operations during first jig testing;
  • Provide technical support to the various production areas and assist operations with technical problems.
