The ideal candidate will have a basic mechanical or tooling background and the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to improve production efficiency and part quality. This is a semi-skilled role, ideal for someone looking to grow within a precision tooling environment without requiring full tool & die maker qualifications. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Investigate and resolve scrap fall issues in stamping dies to improve material flow and part quality. • Monitor and adjust die lubrication systems to ensure consistent application and reduce buildup or part defects. • Identify and adjust grippers as needed. • Assist with the movement of dies in and out of the toolroom as needed. • Assist Tool & Die Makers with minor die repairs, adjustments, and changeovers as needed. • Work with production and quality teams to identify recurring tooling issues and recommend corrective actions. • Perform basic machining, grinding, and bench work as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor. • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety and 5S standards. • Document maintenance, adjustments, and corrective actions performed on dies. • Support continuous improvement efforts related to tooling performance, scrap reduction, and uptime. Minimum Requirements: • Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal stamping environment preferred. • Basic understanding of tooling, die setup, or mechanical systems. • Ability to read and understand blueprints and die drawings (preferred, not required). • Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving and communication skills. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. • Willingness to learn and assist Tool & Die Makers as part of a team.
