Description:

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, understanding, and planning the method to complete work and providing a work estimate for the work package in conjunction with the Project Leader at the customer work request stage, which will subsequently be assigned by supervision / lead hand to an available tradesperson.
- Assembling all necessary materials, components and tooling required to complete the manufacturing process and remain compliant with the Quality Assurance program.
- Planning and execution of the manufacturing steps outlined within the work package at the shop floor level using a variety of conventional and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Shop equipment and associated tooling.
- Ensuring that all material supplied and components being fabricated remain compliant with designated Q.A. standards by frequent self checks throughout the fabrication process utilizing a variety of measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers and gauges etc.
- Completing the machining processes outlined in the designated work packages and inspecting the final product for machinery differences such as burrs, sharp edges and flaws and taking action to prepare the component for final Q.A. inspection by the designated regulator.
- Maintaining good housekeeping practices in all work areas, including tools and equipment, and adhering to provincial, federal, and CNL regulations in order to provide a safe and efficient working environment.
- Attending monthly safety meetings and immediately reporting any safety concerns and/or infractions.
- Applying Event Free Tools and Pre-Job Brief information throughout the execution of assigned work and modelling this behaviour and knowledge to others.
- Assisting in training, coaching and mentoring apprentices and co-op students in safe workshop practices and procedures, including work planning, assisting and developing skills by demonstrating techniques and describing suitable methods. Monitoring, assessing and correcting work performance, discussing problems and improvements and reporting progress to the supervisor and identifying further training needs.
