THE OPPORTUNITY

Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a talented and experienced Torch Operator to join our Team. The Torch Operator, under the direction of the Supervisor, Ferrous / Lead, Operations will be responsible for the safe operation of our torch equipment for cutting metals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one (1) year of torch operating experience.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Previous experience in scrap metal recycling or a related industry is an asset.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITES

  • Cut material using a torch cutting apparatus-a 48-inch lance torch in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform pre-inspections of equipment.
  • Change out compressed gas cylinders when required.
  • Ensure materials are cut as per specifications, or industry standards.
  • Use common cutting techniques that conserve torch parts and maximize production.
  • Organize materials to have more effective use of space.
  • Dispose of various waste materials in an appropriate manner.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the yard clean and organized.
  • Other duties as required, not limited to responsibilities listing above.
