Description The Torque Specialist is responsible for the precise application, verification, and documentation of torque values across critical assemblies. This role requires hands-on experience with Atlas Copco torque tools and systems, and a strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality standards such as VDA 6.3. The Torque Specialist plays a key role in ensuring product integrity, safety, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Apply and verify torque programs using Atlas Copco tools, including handheld and automated systems (e.g., Power Focus, PowerMacs, ToolsNet). Interpret engineering drawings, torque charts, and OEM specifications. Conduct torque audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and customer standards. Maintain and calibrate torque tools, including transducer-based systems, click wrenches, and digital torque tools. Monitor and maintain SPC (Statistical Process Control) data related to torque applications and fastener integrity. Document torque applications and results using digital tracking systems and quality records. Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve torque-related issues. Train operators and technicians on proper torque procedures and Atlas Copco tool usage. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for torque-related non-conformances. Ensure traceability and compliance with ISO/TS standards and customer requirements. SPECIFIC RESPONSABILITIES RELATED TO THE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Know and comply with the policies of the Integrated Management System, the guidelines of the Code of Ethics, the rules of occupational risk prevention and the rules of security and protection of information. Work following the processes defined in the organization. Ensure order and cleanliness in their area of responsibility. Make responsible use of resources and raw materials. Properly segregate waste using the containers provided for this purpose. Ensure their own safety, always complying with the safety measures and ORP regulations applicable in each case. Use appropriately and responsibly the personal protective equipment required for their position. Comply with the measures implemented in the information security risk control and prevention systems. Report any conduct that they consider may pose a risk to information security and, in particular, to the security of personal data. Know and understand the group's environmental objectives. Know and understand the group's policy and principals in terms of MA management. Know and understand the most significant environmental aspects of the work center. Requirements High school diploma or technical certification required; associate degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in torque application, mechanical assembly, or quality inspection. Hands-on experience with Atlas Copco torque tools and software (e.g., Power Focus, ToolsNet). Strong understanding of torque-to-yield fasteners, dry vs. lubricated torque, and bolt patterns. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with torque auditing and digital traceability systems. Experience in maintaining and analyzing SPC data for torque-related processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision. Preferred Skills Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environments. Knowledge of VDA 6.3 process audit methodology and its application in torque-critical processes. Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality standards. Strong communication and training skills. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
