PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION IN NORTH VANCOUVER(HYBRID) CLOSES:  Open Until Filled BE PART OF SOMETHING MEANINGFUL!  Join the Chén̓chenstway Human Resources Department as a Total Rewards Specialist, a key professional role supporting the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Squamish Nation’s total rewards programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compensation, benefits, and reward programs are equitable, competitive, compliant, and aligned with Squamish Nation values and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Total Rewards Specialist provides analytical expertise, market insight, and advisory support across compensation, benefits, and performance-based rewards. This role has a strong focus on data, reporting, and analytics, and contributes to major initiatives such as annual compensation and remuneration reviews, job evaluation, and pay equity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative HR professional who is passionate about fair compensation practices, data-informed decision-making, and supporting employees and leaders through clear guidance and effective programs. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Support the design, administration, and ongoing evaluation of base pay, variable pay, and total rewards programs in alignment with legislation, policy, and Squamish Nation’s strategic goals. * Contribute analytical expertise to annual pay, remuneration, benefits, and reward processes to ensure effective and timely delivery. * Participate in salary and labour market surveys; analyze external market data and trends to assess competitiveness and provide recommendations. * Support the development, review, and revision of remuneration and compensation policies, salary structures, wage management practices, and incentive programs. * Analyze and review job classification and reclassification requests; conduct job audits as required. * Quality-control the job evaluation process for new and existing positions, ensuring internal equity and consistency. * Advise HR and leadership on the application of compensation frameworks, job evaluation outcomes, and related policies. * Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations related to compensation, benefits, and total rewards. * Translate complex data and technical information into clear, accessible insights for leadership and stakeholders. * Act as a resource and trainer on total rewards programs, ensuring alignment with legislation such as pay equity and living wage standards. * Prepare and deliver presentations and information sessions related to total rewards. * Collaborate with HR leadership, managers, and directors in planning, coordinating, administering, and reporting on total rewards programs. * Ensure programs and practices align with employment legislation, internal policies, and Squamish Nation values. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or a related field with a focus on total rewards. * Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, or actively working toward completion, is required. * Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Human Rights legislation, and employment law. * Commitment to ongoing professional development. * Proven experience as a Compensation, Benefits, or Total Rewards Specialist. * Strong experience working with job evaluation systems, salary structures, and compensation administration. * Advanced experience working with data, numbers, spreadsheets, and analytics. * Intermediate to advanced experience using Office 365 and ADP (or similar HRIS). * Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion. * Knowledge of Squamish Nation, Squamish language (Skwxwú7mesh Snichim), and First Nations governance is strongly preferred. * Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination. * Demonstrates extensive knowledge of, and strong connection to, the Squamish community.
