We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to join our team at HFX Limo & Tours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sharing insights about Halifax, Peggy’s Cove, and Nova Scotia’s rich history and culture with visitors from around the world. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading private and small-group tours, providing engaging storytelling and ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. This role requires strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to manage time effectively while delivering outstanding customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills to ensure guests feel valued and cared for.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Confident and approachable personality with natural leadership qualities.
  • Exceptional verbal communication; written communication skills are an asset.
  • Prior experience in tourism, education, hospitality, or performing arts is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Halifax and Nova Scotia history, or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities (especially French, German, Spanish, or Punjabi) are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Lead guided tours to Peggy’s Cove, Halifax landmarks, and surrounding areas, ensuring guests enjoy an informative and entertaining experience.
  • Share historical facts, cultural insights, and engaging stories about the Titanic Cemetery, Citadel Hill, Public Gardens, and Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse.
  • Interact with guests through clear public speaking, humor, and active listening.
  • Answer guest questions and provide additional recommendations when requested.
  • Maintain professionalism and a welcoming attitude at all times.
  • Manage tour schedules efficiently, balancing storytelling with photo stops and free time.
  • Support fellow team members and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collect guest feedback to continuously improve the quality of tours.
