OVERVIEW

Commercial Truck Equipment Sales Representatives are the main conduit between Canada’s essential sector workers and us. It’s their job to anticipate, understand, and define customer needs for vehicles, put together professional and competitive bids, and then work hand-in-hand with the customer from pre-construction through to delivery of their work trucks. To that end, we’re searching for our next Towing & Recovery Equipment Sales Representative for the Alberta territory, based in-person out of our brand-new, state-of-the-art Edmonton branch and capable of frequent travel.

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and hit the ground running. Specific product knowledge and familiarization will be provided, but a strong base of industry knowledge is required.

  • Valid driver’s license is required. The successful candidate will eventually need a Class 3 and Q endorsement- many of the trucks we transport, sell, and deliver have multiple rear axles. Reliable personal transportation is also required. Capable and comfortable driving larger vehicles. Driver’s abstract may be required.
  • Experience and knowledge of tow and recovery techniques, industry, and equipment is a very strong asset.
  • Previous sales and/or project management experience is very valuable, especially if a candidate has managed their own sales territory before.
  • Previous experience with bid & tender response submissions is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical and computer skills are a must. The successful candidate must be completely comfortable in excel spreadsheets, heavily formatted word documents, SharePoint and OneDrive file sharing and file management, as well as editing and manipulating PDF documents.
  • Independent, reliable, amiable, driven, self-motivated, detail-oriented.
  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
  • Capable of managing multiple and challenging priorities on a daily basis.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment and prioritize work effectively to keep customers happy and truck sales and deliveries moving.
Responsibilities
  • Research, build, maintain, grow, and nurture relationships with municipalities and operators within the sales territory to understand current tow equipment challenges and anticipate future needs.
  • Track, anticipate, and access all public RFP’s/RFQ’s/Tenders for tow and recovery equipment in the sales territory. Prepare and submit responses.
  • Effectively manage a sales territory, ensure exceptional experiences for customers throughout the sales process.
  • Engage all stakeholders in the tow and recovery world including equipment vendors and suppliers to build non-customer relationships.
  • Deliver trucks to customers, perform in-service training, and generally support customers in all parts of the sales cycle.
