Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist will provide analytical toxicology support for veterinary diagnostic cases and related research activities. This position requires effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, and clients in a collaborative team environment. The Research Specialist will receive training in both organic and inorganic analytical techniques, with an initial focus on HPLC, GC/MS, and mercury analysis and contributing to research projects. Cross-training will be provided to serve as a backup for other sections, such as ICP/MS and LC/MS/MS. Duties and responsibilities may be reassigned and/or expanded to correspond with increased test proficiency, changes in caseload, and evolution of staff assignments.
This position is located in Kennett Square, PA, 19348, which is approximately 34 miles outside of Philadelphia. There is no public transportation to this location. You must have your own transportation.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field and 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Master’s degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred. The candidate should enjoy working with others in a collaborative team environment. Vaccination against rabies and a current titer (checked within the last 2 years if the initial vaccination series was administered more than 2 years ago) is recommended; vaccination can be provided upon employment.
