Full Time Employment
We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Property Claims Handler in our home office in Elgin, IL. You will manage first party and commercial property claims nationwide with the support of an outstanding Administrative Team. Accepting local and remote candidates.
Base Salary- 60,000-80,000

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a pending of insurance claims investigations from first notice of loss through completion
  • Obtains necessary information from the claimant and from experts such as architects, engineers, builders, construction workers, police officers, health care practitioners, accountants, and others to fully and accurately assess the extent of the loss.
  • Works well with clients, team members, insureds and third parties to resolve claims effectively.
  • Understands insurance policies and policy interpretation, establishes appropriate loss estimates based on all relevant information and findings.
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers on conclusions and recommendations.
  • Maintains accurate, thorough field notes, journal entries, and time and expense records as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial & Homeowner Property Claims. Lloyd’s of London, Builders Risk & Inland Marine experience is an advantage. Prefer an AIC and/or CPCU candidate. State licensing will be required and prefer a home state license of TX.
  • In-depth knowledge of first party and commercial property and construction claims
  • Comprehensive experience working in Xactimate
  • Ability to evaluate and properly reserve and pay a claim.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge
  • Critical thinking required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Competent written and oral business communication skills
  • Excellent customer service
