Description Job Title: Assistant Track & Field Coach Location: Marian Central Catholic High School, Woodstock, IL Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal Reports To: Head Track & Field Coach, Athletic Director Job Summary: Marian Central Catholic High School is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to serve as an Assistant Track & Field Coach. This position will support the Head Coach in training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring a safe and competitive environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about track & field, committed to student-athlete growth, and aligned with the school’s mission and values. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and leading team practices, training sessions, and competitions. Provide individualized coaching to student-athletes in various track & field events. Help develop and implement effective training programs to improve athletic performance. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development among athletes. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff to enhance program success. Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress and character development. Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and IHSA regulations and policies. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, expectations, and schedules. Qualifications: Previous coaching or competitive experience in track & field preferred. Strong knowledge of track & field techniques, strategies, and training methods. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. Commitment to upholding the values and mission of Marian Central Catholic High School. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must pass all background checks and comply with school and state safety regulations. Compensation: Compensation will be based on experience and school policy.

Responsibilities

This position involves assisting the Head Coach in planning and leading practices, training sessions, and competitions for the track and field team. The coach will provide individualized coaching to student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship and supporting their academic and character development.
