Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, and Hotel is looking for a Track Equipment Mechanic to assist in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining facility machinery.  Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:  * Maintains track equipment, small engine equipment & attachments, snow removal equipment & attachments, hydraulic systems, fences and gate repairs.   * Designs and fabricates changes to or building of needed equipment.   * Repairs equipment by using different types of welding equipment, cutters, saws, presses, hoists, etc.  * Ensures all equipment is clean and in presentable condition.  * Troubleshoots problems with equipment.   * Maintains proper records on all repairs/maintenance.    Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent along with technical or specialized training in the mechanics/welding field. At least five years’ experience required. Must have valid driver’s license with Class B CDL Air Brakes and safe driving record. Must be able to perform repairs and maintenance. Ability to operate various types of equipment safety and cautiously. Must pay close attention to detail. Must be able to drive both standard and automatic transmission vehicles. Must have excellent problem-solving skills. Must know how to weld and use welding equipment. Ability to function as a team player. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work from ladders. Ability to stand or walk for eight-hour shifts. May be on call 24 hours for major breakdowns and snow removal. Indoor and outdoor environment. May have exposure to chemicals. Ability to bend and do overhead work. Smoking environment. Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary. Subject to injury from use of hand or power tools.
