JOB DESCRIPTION:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Track Installation Superintendent to join our team! In this role you will work closely with the project team to coordinate the project to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with the costs, schedule, and contractual requirements. Will be responsible for coordination of all production requirements related to the work, including but not limited to safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/ subcontractor/ craft communication and management. The role requires detailed knowledge of heavy public infrastructure LRT projects, as well as people and project management skills in a public-facing,
WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience), and typically 8+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years proven heavy civil construction experience, preferably in LRT or similar public infrastructure projects
- Experience with earthworks, removals, concrete and heavy machinery
- Valid Class 5 license; clean abstract preferred
- Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
WHAT DESIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings and other construction documents
- Proven leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills within a multi-deadline multi-discipline project
- Computer proficiency including MS Office and SharePoint
- Ability to work in field or office as required, with a focus on field-oriented tasks
- Highly motivated, able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry
- Flexibility to manage multiple project scopes simultaneously, meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
- Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills, thoughtful, proactive and creative
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
