TRACK - VARSITY GIRLS HEAD COACH {SUPPLEMENTAL POSITION}

Stipend per negotiated agreement.

  • Prior experience in coaching, teaching, or mentoring students preferred
  • Knowledge of rules, strategies, and techniques of the assigned sport
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, and the community using tact, courtesy, and good judgment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Commitment to promoting academic achievement, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth of student-athletes
  • Maintain student confidentiality at all times
  • Genuine desire to support efforts to achieve the district vision: Preparing, inspiring, and empowering all students to achieve success

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

In accordance with State law, the Rossford Board of Education requires a valid Pupil Activity Permit, completion of required coaching certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Concussion Training, Sudden Cardiac Arrest), and a criminal background check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records for each applicant the Superintendent recommends for employment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions that develop athletes’ skills, teamwork, and fitness
  • Teach proper techniques, strategies, and rules of the sport in alignment with OHSAA regulations
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities to ensure safety and well-being
  • Assist the Athletic Director with program coordination, scheduling, communication, and equipment management
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, students, and staff regarding team expectations, schedules, and student progress
  • Promote good sportsmanship, character development, and responsible citizenship both on and off the field/court
  • Ensure compliance with all district, league, and state health and safety regulations
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating positive conduct, respect, and dedication to student success
  • Fulfill responsibilities as outlined in applicable job description(s), including other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Principal, or Superintendent
