This role will be on a rotating roster, which includes morning shifts (6 am-2 pm), afternoon shifts (2 pm-10 pm), and night shifts (10 pm-6 am) across weekdays and weekends.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Preparing drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
  • Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, controls, and hydraulic power systems

  • Collecting and analyzing data, carrying out complex computations, and preparing diagrams
  • Organizing and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plants
  • Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions

  • A team player with a can-do attitude
  • The ability to work effectively in factories and workshops, collaborating with other workers, adhering to supervisory guidelines, and working on a rotating roster
  • Experience in the maintenance or rail industry; proficiency in the manufacturing and industrial sectors would be advantageous
  • Trade, construction, and/or electrical knowledge would be advantageous
  • Experience with IT, and hand and power tools would be advantageous
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, problem resolution skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to work on your own initiative
