Description:
This position reports to and works closely with the APAC Trade Compliance Manager and the global compliance team, managing the day-to-day operations of trade compliance and logistics for the APAC region and handler internal customs mock audit within the APAC country.
The Trade Compliance Analyst, APAC will be responsible for managing oversea the day to day import and export customs are correctly declare according to the local customs rules and regulation, perform internal compliance check. The role will interact with the Regional and APAC in country Distribution and Logistics, RAQA, Finance, Global tax, Global Trade Compliance team, external customs/forwarder/broker and compliance consultants/auditors. Shall report directly to Trade Compliance Manager, APAC.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience of importation and exporting of medical devices in the APAC region desired
- Bilingual (Mandarin and English).
- Must possess demonstrated administrative skills.
- Working knowledge of Customs Compliance regulations within APAC. Preferred
- HS code/ECCN code classification skills
- Understanding of import and export regulations. Preferred
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Operational experience of Customs and Logistics requirements. Preferred
- Strong computer skills are required with expertise in MS Office Suite such as Outlook, Words, PowerPoint and Excel as well as other internet applications.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills are required.Must have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience dealing with APAC customs compliance and audit.
- Experience working in APAC organization and with geographically exposure.
- Willing to flex work hours to meet the needs of the organization.Experience in collaborating with stakeholders for instance supply chain, global trade compliance team, global tax, distribution operation, commercial /sales functions.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Reports to and partners with the APAC Trade Compliance Manager.
- Collaborates with the APAC distribution and logistics teams to implement trade compliance policies.
- Work with approved freight forwarders to ensure expeditious release of imports.
- Conduct internal training on Trade customs compliance topics.
- Provides expertise advisory to the global compliance team for daily oversight of imports to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations to smooth out on time delivery of product to customers.
- Supporting the import and export team with queries
- Develops and maintains KPI’s and quality scorecards relating to broker/freight compliance as outlined in compliance manuals.
- Audits, and under the Global Trade Compliance, approves international freight invoices.
- Assisting with interdepartmental audits as it pertains to Customs Compliance.
- Works with local and global RAQA personnel to obtain updated US Food & Drug Administration information for CooperVision, and with local regulatory authorities throughout APAC region to ensure accurate and timely filing of license/registration information upon import for customs declaration.
- Determine HS code/ECCN for items being export or import by CooperVision, review export license.
- Partners with the global compliance team with ongoing projects
- Collaborates with stakeholders in the APAC region in trade facilitation projects
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
- Checking import documentation for valuation and procedural accuracy and compliance
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
